2007 Columbia River Brigade Update

Hello friends and followers of David Thompson!

Just a very short update here as we are getting ready to leave on the David Thompson 2007 Columbia River Brigade.

You can follow us on our 2007 Columbia River Brigade as each canoe will have a GPS transmitter in it and will update its position every half hour between 0700 and 1700 each day starting June 27th. The web address is: www.canadianvoyageur.com/crb/route so put it in your 'favorites' and check on us from time to time.

On the top of the map page, there is a small tool bar and you will want to click on 'satellite' to get the Google earth VIEW. Click on the small number 50 km or 5 km to zoom in on the route. Click on any or all of the teams on the left and the team's canoe icon will be shown at their current location. I will be sending in short updates as often as I can get a computer link so check the home page of the web site for those.

The David Thompson Heritage Stage Show
The David Thompson 2007 Columbia River Brigade kicked off at Kin Beach in Vernon on Sunday June 25, 2007. Several hundred people turned out to see the voyageurs being welcomed to Kin Beach by members of the Okanagan Nation Alliance. The event also featured the David Thompson Heritage Stage Show which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience and managed to finish just before the downpour arrived. Visit the website at www.canadianvoyageur.com/crb to find dates and locations of the Heritage Stage Show along the route.

Interview on CBC Radio
