This trip and adventure is over. We have taken over 100 people on a trip on a very special river commemorating a very special Canadian. These 100 plus people now know a lot more about the Columbia River than they did before the trip, The thousands of people along the way are motivated to learn more about David Thompson and the role he played in the development of their valleys.

Purpose of the event:

To commemorate David Thompson’s exploration of the Columbia River in 1807 and to recognize his extraordinary contribution to Canadian history.

Scope of the event:

To lead a brigade of Voyageur Canoes from the headwaters of the Columbia River at Canal Flats to Trail, BC, visiting the Columbia River Basin Communities en route.
To include a cultural component: “The David Thompson Heritage Stage Show”, a professional production that will welcome participants, young and old, from the Columbia River Basin Communities.
To produce a 30-minute educational video for post event presentation.
To feature 25’ Voyageur Canoes that will travel together in a brigade pageant style. Competitive aspects will be entertained!
